I have worked in the caring professions for over thirty years. Twenty years ago, I moved from social and community work to complementary healthcare.
Two fundamental beliefs inform all my work: there is intrinsic health and goodness at the core of every human being, our mental, spiritual, emotional and physical aspects inter-relate and co-exist as one whole.
My formal training includes the following:
Shiatsu
In 1992 I received a Diploma in Shiatsu from the British School of Shiatsu. I complemented this Five Elements training with studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Mindfulness practice.
Reiki
In order to enhance the quality of contact with clients I took the Usui Reiki path, becoming a practitioner in 1993. I am a member of the Reiki Association.
Craniosacral Therapy
In 1994 I completed practitioner training in Craniosacral Therapy with Franklyn Sills of the Karuna Institute. I continue to study with him and other teachers. I am a member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association.
Core Process Psychotherapy
Finally, I started my Core Process Psychotherapy practice in 2005 while under the auspices of the Karuna Institute. The training offered me many joys, including the opportunity to revisit pre and perinatal psychology and trauma work. Both of these areas are of particular interest to me. I am a member of the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP) and registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I continue to be excited, amazed and rewarded by the work!
